Envoyé ce soir à l'email américain de la Fox :
Reference : FRENCH CONNECTION II (USA 1975)
Object : asking for exchange of bluray region B (with French speaking version and French subtitles) because bluray has become suddenly unreadable.
Dear Sir
I want to report you a technical problem with my bluray edition of FRENCH CONNECTION II (USA 1975) directed by John Frankenheimer.
Hereby, as attached file, the letter (in French language) that I have sent to Marie Sauvage, Fox France, in Paris, France. So far, no concrete answer has been brought to that letter and to my phone calls, which is the reason why I write to you in English directly the present email.
To be short, that bluray (sold in the boxset including both FRENCH CONNECTION and FRENCH CONNECTION II) region B released in France during the year 2008-2009, was in excellent technical condition, was normally stocked in my videolibrary, bear no mark or any physical defect on the surface but has suddenly become unreadable by my different bluray player machine since 2015.
Probably due to a component used by bluray laboratories in France between years 2008-2010 : many titles of many dvd and bluray publishing companies have been impacted by a defective "résine" (I write you that word in French : it is a component used in the making process of the bluray discs) used by the laboratories. There is a whole French site concerning that incredible matter :
www.bluraydefectueux.com because more and more bluray titles are suddenly impacted. On my side, in order to keep my videolibrary at the level I need, I have been forced to buy again an old dvd PAL zone 2 of FRENCH CONNECTION II in a French "brocante" (second hand market) : technological regression but it is the only move I could made, in the meantime, since I like very much that movie, shot in France by Frankenheimer, as you know.
So my request is quite simple :
Could you please command to Fox France to exchange my defective sample of the bluray of FRENCH CONNECTION II against another sample ?
I am waiting to know from Fox France the process and condition of such an exchange, to which adress I must send back my defective sample, with or without the cover and artwork, and so on, etc...
Waiting for your answer or the answer of Fox France, in the meantime, please receive my kindest regards
Francis Moury
PS
I precise that my sample of FRENCH CONNECTION (USA 1971) directed by William Friedkin is not concerned, though it belong to the same setbox including the defective FRENCH CONNECTION II.
They have been manufactured at the same time, probably by the same French laboratory but the 1971 Friedkin movie is still fortunately readable by my bluray players.
..................................
